modo advantages
Double, no triple duty
modo helps you both design the package and alternative graphic
treatments—all in one software program. modo's subdivision modeling
is far more flexible than CAD software and can handle any shape or material
from blister packs to tall tins. Need a new golf ball package? modo will
let you model the ball, create the hinged package and then show off how the
metallic printing on a holographic substrate will look.
Time-Varying Properties
Heard about the new beer cans that change color when properly
chilled? This kind of thing is easy to visualize using modo—where any
property can change over time. And when the look of the packaging changes
according to viewing angle, modo can handle that too—ideal for visualizing
lenticular or dimensional printing techniques for example.
Fast, Physically-Accurate
Lighting
modo has one of the fastest global illumination renderers anywhere.
That makes your packaging look real because physics are driving the light
calculations. And modo supports IES lighting so that packaging
can be seen accurately under a variety of real world lights to assess brand
impact, visibility, and readability.
Animations and Walk-Throughs
If you can move a camera in modo, you can make an animation.
That is perfect for showing how a new slide blister pack or click-lock carton
looks from eye-level in a retail setting. Or how about showing how packaging
operates? That's also easy to set up in modo by setting starting and ending
positions for the slide or cap. You can also use animation to show assembly
or unpacking scenarios.
Photoshop Compatible
modo reads and writes PSD files and also uses a layered approach
to building up the look of your designs that will make you feel right at
home.
Works on Mac and PC computers
Maybe you have a PC at work and a Mac at home. Your license
to modo lets you run on both a Mac and PC.
